WHAT PEOPLE SAY ABOUT

Kenneth

One of the gifts of living in a small town is that we have the opportunity to personally know many of the people who serve and lead our community. As a Tiverton business owner, I’ve had my fair share of challenges starting, operating, and growing a business within the Municipality of Kincardine. Through those challenges, I’ve been grateful for the support of Mayor Ken Craig. There have been times when I’ve felt my business—or Tiverton itself—was forgotten or placed second to other priorities within our municipality. In those moments, Ken has consistently made an effort to listen, offer assistance, encourage me, and is genuinely invested in seeing my business succeed . No leader is perfect, and I don’t expect them to be. What I do expect is someone who cares enough to listen, is willing to show up, and works hard for the community they serve. In my experience, Ken has done that. His wisdom, experience, and love for this community are evident. His commitment to helping build a healthy, vibrant, and strong community deserves to be recognized. For me, Ken Craig has earned my respect and my support—not simply because of what he says, but because I have personally seen him put in the work. When it comes time to vote, I believe Ken Craig is deserving of your consideration and your support. He certainly has mine.

Adrian Foster
Chair, Canadian Association of Nuclear Host Communities

Mayor Ken Craig’s leadership on the nuclear file has been focused, informed and effective. His deep knowledge of the issues, combined with the strong relationships he has built with governments, industry and fellow nuclear host communities, has positioned Kincardine well as we continue our work toward fair and equitable treatment for nuclear host communities. Kincardine has been well served by Mayor Craig’s leadership. I am confident that, if re-elected, he will continue to deliver the focused and effective leadership Kincardine needs.

One of the things I have valued most about working alongside Ken is his interest in bringing people together to find the best solutions. He leads with respect, listens to perspectives that may differ from his own, asks thoughtful questions and understands that leadership is ultimately about the team, the community and the legacy we leave behind for those who come after us. Ken’s door has always been open. He has made time to listen, offer advice and consider new ideas — whether the conversation was about something happening around the Council table or in the community. At one of my first meetings in his office, I noticed a small handwritten sign above the doorway leading out into the hall. It read, “Servant’s Entrance.” The message was simple: when you walk out of that office and into the community, you are there to serve them, not yourself. I’ve thought about that sign many times since, because it says a lot about the way Ken approaches public service. He has a deep appreciation for all the different parts of our Municipality and for the people who make them what they are. He understands the importance of our individual communities, our businesses and major economic drivers, our service clubs, sports teams, community organizations and the countless volunteers who give their time to make this such an incredible place to live. A conversation with Ken can easily move from his evening spent on the tractor to a recent chat with a small business owner or span lessons learned volunteering alongside his children to insights from a meeting with provincial officials and representatives from the nuclear sector. He understands both the everyday realities of life here and the larger opportunities and challenges that will shape our future. Not every decision made at Council is transformative, but Ken has balanced taking strategically bold action with a strong focus on fiscal responsibility.  He has kept the big picture in sight while remembering who he is serving today.  More than anything, Ken’s commitment to this Municipality is genuine. He cares about its people, its communities and the organizations that hold them together. He believes in working collaboratively, building bridges and finding a way forward together.

Mayor Craig has been a supportive advocate for the Beach Safety improvements being made in Kincardine. As co-founder of Kincardine Beach Safety, Ken's always expressed gratitude for the work we do locally and has helped make Smart Beach a reality for Kincardine. In an effort to prevent drownings in the Municipality, he has shown his willingness to consider new ways of doing things and leverage new technology.
